28 WVB: The Lady Colonels close their 2017 campaign with a sweep in their home tri-match. Wilkes avenged a 3-2 loss earlier in the year to Rutgers-Camden by starting the day with a four-set victory (25-22, 25-20, 17-25 and 25-22). Wilkes was led by big kills from senior Kayley Schinski and sophomore Jamey Mikovich to close out the set.

The Lady Colonels finished their second game, against Utica, with a season-best hitting game. Wilkes posted a.305 hitting percentage on 39 kills with seven errors on 105 total attacks to sink Utica in straight sets (25-14, 25-18 and 25-16). MXC: The Colonels placed eighth of 17 teams in the Middle Atlantic Conference Championships, hosted by Delaware Valley. The Colonels, led by sophopmore Franco Balbuena’s 23rd overall finish, totaled 281 points in the 8k event. Balbuena finished in 27:46.5 for the eighth fastest time in Wilkes history. Freshman Abby Keating posted a 2:09.49 first place finish in the 200 freestyle.

The Wilkes defense played its best game of the 2017 campaign by limiting the Albright offense to 341 total yards, including a season-low of (-20) rushing yards.
