It may not be compatible with 10.6. Tallest guy in the Mod Squad with all his hair still on his head. No I'm not a freaking pilot!! And in reality, I think R-Bus is merely 4 I2S channels in each direction plus MIDI over a higher bandwidth transport. It's not like it is a ground-up reinvention of the wheel. Heck, I'd be satisfied if PreSonus merely open-sourced the code for the V-Fire driver, and let the community handle ongoing development. JefLong Prenoob Joined: 04:46:39 Messages: 1 Offline Dear presonus. I am also very disillusioned with your choice to withdraw software support for the V-Fire, I bought it at a time when you were advertising it as a way for Roland users to no longer be left out and to make the most of their existing equipment. Indeed your marketing on the product at the time already indicated that the R-Bus protocol had lost the race against ADAT and T/Dif etc and therefore I consider your argument that you have withdrawn support because Roland no longer uses the R-Bus protocol to be entirely invalid.

The same marketing material also promised imminent driver updates. I am now forced to keep a PPC G4 running just for my Roland devices. To make matters worse this G4 already had two of the RPC pci cards in it, rendering the V-Fire a complete waste of cash for me, I only bought it because of the promised drivers and in preparation to leave the PCI slot behind. To add insult to the injury the M-Audio drivers for the RPC1 card (which they manufactured) are completely up to date; I could run their card on my mac mini and iMac if only they had pci slots, and i can upgrade the G4 all the way to 10.5.8 if I use those cards, the device I purchased IN GOOD FAITH to replace the cards was redundant before the cards!! Grrr I am proficient with Xcode and a published iPhone developer. I humbly offer my services to port your source code to 10.6 and 10.7 free of charge and will be happy to enter any non disclosure agreements. All you need to do is host the new drivers for your loyal users.

What do you say? Why dont you prove that this is not about licensing to Roland or other economic factors? I assure you that your failure to support the product will only cost you sales, people who's fingers you have burned have plenty of other choices when it comes to replacing their prematurely redundant equipment.
